survivor week 2

loved this weeks challenge!!!
it's all about the one liner (one direction, one liner for the title) and fall colors.

i used bobunny dot paper for the base, mls wood grain paper (thank you janie!!!!), and lots of scraps, and somt thickers!

for the record...

i was so happy when my package from pumpkin spice arrived last week!!! yay echo park for the record baby! i added some swiss dot bazzill and some old school cosmo cricket jacks word stickers to make it a little more boy-ish. tfl!!

yes it is another scraptastic club kit page!! seriously that feb kit keeps on giving!!!

i added the bg letters to spell gavin from my stash. these pics are from right before thanksgiving at stew leonards. they always give the kids stickers at checkout. gavin always decorates himself with said stickers!!

nuts week 149

here is my take, using the scraptastic clubs feb kit! although its a "girl lo" about alexas trip to pepsico, the colors were perfect!!!

allergies stink, scraptastic kits rock!!!

for almost a year gavin had a terrible dairy allergy. he would get these terrible painful rashes (like seen on his cheek here). thankfully he frew out of the allergy! yay!!

here is one more page i've created with the feb scraptastic club kit!
i added the little felt flower from my stash.

SURVIVOR BABY!!!!
the new season startd wednesday yay!! uess what else started wednesday??? yup tally survivor!!

this weeks challenge:white space, blue, tan ad brown, recycled scrapbook packaging, and pic with more than one person in it.

i cut the heart from blue cardstock, ran a line of atg, and attached the jenni bowlin crepe paper ribbon to it. i used the stickles on there too. I painted prima packaging and matted the photo to it.

a fun technique

grab your mists, stamps, ink and let's goooo!

above: i cut the flower as a mask and used a basic grey stamp. start misting with you lightest color. I used the same mask, and just kept moving it, but left the stamp in the same place (facing the direction it will be stamped)
below: i used the 2 glimmer mists (meadow green and kahki)

and here is the completed tag. this too was a challenge on tally scrapper, this one from christine.

tally challenge and a fun tutorial!

how cute is this page!! i got the most amazing gift on saturday! my friend heather sent me a tss kit and a lovely card, it totally made me cry that someone thought of me!!!!

i did this page for a challenge on tally scrapper
for this challenge we had to title our page from a disney animated movie song, have part of the title be from patterned paper, box up patterned paper, and use the same embellies from the 14th thing in your talle treasure.

above: boxed up pattern paper with the date on it. i used my 1*rock for the bling!
below: my title

i added glue to the toulle heart that i cut.

covered with green and irredescent glitter

doesn't the heart look cute behind the photos!!!

valentines cupcakes!

HAPPY DAY BEFORE VALENTINES DAY!!!

these are chocolate cupcakes with almond/vanilla buttercream!
to make butter cream...

1 and 1/3 stick butter
2 ts almond extract
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
5 tbsp milk
1lb confectioners sugar

cream butter and extracts together.
add milk and beat for 45 seconds
add sugar and salt (slowly) if you want to add color do so when all sugar is in. beat for 3 minutes.

enjoy!

sharing my space...

yesterday i decided my desk that i love so much would be better used for the kids and everyones laptop, netbook, etc....

this meant my scrap stuff would be evicted. i needed to downsize. i picked up the cute red and blue floral boxes in the target $1 section. now my scrappy space is in my room on these shelves (also from target)
top shelf has paper punches, pictures...

work area... trimmer, qk, handy tools, markers, more punches lol

way too many thickers lol

embellie drawers by color... and that box has ribbons and trim (need to find a new solution for that)

i did scrap there a little last night and it wasn't so bad. it will take a little getting used to lol

scraptacular, glimmer mist, recycling, oh my!!!

this time of year my kids couldlive on clementines! then what do you do with all those boxes they come in?? here is my idea....

i used my scraptacular feb kit, strawberry and black chalkboard glimmer mist, and a left over banner from williams birthday!
i sprayed the heart doilie (just like i did for yesterday's valentine)
used the black calkboard glimmer mist to spray the box. it really gave it an amazing look!

stapled together the leftover banner colors that coordianted with my project!

and here it is! a great place to put al those valentines!

scraptacular valentine...

in the feb scraptacular kit there are white heart shaped paper doilies. i LOVE these things!! i sprayed one with strawberry chelkboard glimmer mist, cut off the edge (you'll see that recycled during the scraptacular blog hop!) and adhered the misted heart to a white one.

then there was the cute back of the package from the mm bling word in the kit....
what could be better than adding it to a valentine! perfect!!!

boston cream pie cupcakes

to make these yummies you will need...

1. yellow cake mix and what it calls for on box
2. 3/4c flour
3. instant vanilla pudding
4. 1 cup cool whip
5. 1 cup chocolate

add flour to cake mix (makes a better cupcake for cutting and filling ;) )
bake cupcakes and let cool completely

holding your knife on a 45 degree angle cut into cupcake top

use your finger to gently make a well for the "custard"

mix vanilla pudding mix, 1 1/2 c cold skim milk and 1/2c coolwhip. mix for 3 minutes. place in piping bag and fill well in cupcake 3/4 full. replace tops

melt chocolate in microwave. half way through melting add coolwhip. stir, continue to melt. it will be thick. add a splash of milk and stir. you want the chocolate to become smooth again. it usually takes less than a tbsp of milk to get to that point.
using a spoon spread chocolate over cupcakes. just enough to cover most of the top, it will settle a bit.

now doesn't that look yummy??!!??

saturday, new store, and scraptacular happenings

today i just wanted to share with you a new online scrappy store i found!!! pumpkin spice Denine is super sweet, she will try to get you what ever you are looking for AND you CANNOT beat her prices!!!!

i preordered my echo park for the record from her, i have gotten my echo park little girl there also! i also see an irock tool in my future.........

scraptastic friday!!!

this week i am hosting the weekly challenge for scraptastic club!!!

the mailman came yesterday with my feb kit, and i got right to work!!! i couldn't wait!!! i love this first page i made with it, and it is my example for this weeks challenge!!!

i matted the photos on the striped paper (back of the airplane paper, i loved both sides!!!), then matted that on the red cardstock. i used my ctuuer bee scissor and fringed the edges then roughed them up a bit.

and my cute title block. this is the back of the strips paper (with all the different patterns, where the star/scallop came from). i used fiskars edge punch for it.
