so here is gavin eating a banana, he was so happy when he learned to do it himself! i used some leftovers from my queen*scraps garden variety kit!

this weeks sketch is from 52 sketches #6 for the everyday scrapperand here is my version. i really mixed it up on this one. i've got paper from scenic route, bobunny, and bg, ribbon from cosmo cricket, and title and flowers from sass! I WAS REALLY DIGGING IN THE STASH!!

happy memorial day weekend!!

with the kick off of memorial day weekend, i realized that school is almost over! here in ny our kids go until almost the end of june. last night i used scraps from my queen*scraps nerdy birdy kit and made this card for alexas 1st grade teacher.

i honestly have no idea how i made such a good bow!

there are just a few days left for the may sale at queen*scraps! buy 4 page kits get one free!

i have been cleaning and purging scrappy stuff for 2 weeks! in my quest for organization i found the remnants of the january wip kit!

our shrek party!

you saw the cupcakes! they were a BIG hit lol

here is one of the food tables!
yes we had 140 chicken nuggets! but we also had 20 cheeseburgers, 20 mcd's juice boxes, and some apple pies from mcdonalds! i made muddy buddies, the cup of dirt cupcakes, guacamole, and margaritas (they are green lol)

it was sooooo much fun!

i decided to glitter and raise one letter in the title. it needed some bling!!

the color room pallete #7

love this weeks pallette!! though i am not a purple fan, i did use a darker purple.
these rubons are OLD!!! really old sassafrass lass! i decided the other day i really need to bust out some old stash and use it!

the jenni bowlin and mm alphas are pretty old too! and the hambly journaling transparency is pretty darn old! i updated the rubons with some kaiser pearls.

the perfect cupcake for our shrek party!!!

i used a box dark chocolate mix. cut the water and oil by a third and added sour cream to get a denser cupcake.

i used a straw to make a hole in the top of the frosted cookie covered cupcakes, the put 1/2 a gummy worm in each!

some yummy pink paislee! a cute ribbon flower! 2 cute kids!!!

the flower was easy, just make loops using about 12" of ribbon, then i used the in to hold it together!

a new use for joy ride

it's not just for vacation, and car pages anymore!

i used the april wip kit, added the kaiser alpha, and used the martha stewart flourish punch!

this was an ok photo, but there was too much in the background distracting from the subject.

and after cropping, adjusting the contrast and shadows and highlights, it is a much better photo.

yup that's my party in a box!!! shrek party baby!! (why i made those swap lights ;) )
this box is packed with so many mcdonalds/shrek goodies!!! ok the happy meal toys are a must! and the glasses are super cute!! i am addicted to the mcd's glasses, and these shrek ones rock!!

what's cooking?

this was last night's dinner!

have too much corn on the cob? i did so i came up with this...

sauted onion, then corn 4 ears of fresh corn cut off the cob with salt and pepper and 2 garlic cloves in evoo.

added a drained can of dices tomatoes, 2 tsp of chili powder, and 1/2 tsp if chipotle powder simmered for 5 min, and added shrimp until shrimp are cooked. right before serving i added the juice of 1/2 lime, added sliced avocados and whole grain spanish pilaf.
