nuts about sketches is celebrating it's

200th sketch this week!

i have been doing them since day

one when she used to share them

on a message board with us

weekly!

here is my first (wk 76)

as a dt member on her awesome blog!

i remember all the sketches and

have LOVED doing them all!

here is my take on this

weeks sketch!

i give you week 200!!!!

i used lots of crate here (thank you jessica! xoxo)

and the sew easy heart head (thank you heather!)

i'm saying thank you because

i am so blessed to have amazing

scrappy friends!!! both were given

to me as gifts, they really do rock!

baking update

hello all!

i wanted to share a couple

yummy things with you!

first we have cheesy garlic monkey bread!

it's super easy!

2 cans grands biscuits cut in half

1/2 block of mozzarella cheese cut into cubes

1/2 stick butter melted

1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp italian herbs

last 4 ingredients in small bowl

place a cube of cheese in center of 1/2 biscuit

seal edges, dip in butter mixture

place in greased bunt pan

bake @ 375 until golden brown

then i made this yummy

double berry crumb cake

so easy you won't believe!

take your favorite blueberry muffin recipe

add 1/2 cup cranberries

make crumbly topping...

3/4 c brown sugar

1/2 c flour

1/2 c oats

1/4 cup softened butter

pour muffin mix into greased small baking pan

(8x8 or smaller or double your muffin recipe)

top with crumbly goodness

and bake at 350 for 35 mins

enjoy, like we did!

easy valentines: scraptastic club kit!

need a last minute easy

valentine for the kids?

i used my february

scraptastic club hearts a flutter kit

to make these cuties!!

here is what you need...

*i used the cricut plantin cartridge to cut the hearts

coordinating papers

popdots

small punch

pencils

use the small heart punch

to make holes (this is where the pencil *arrow* goes through)

use popdots on smaller heart

and on punched out tiny heart

assemble as seen above

place pencil through the holes

finished valentine!

here is my take on this weeks sketch...

again i used my january

scraptastic club button box kit!

alexa playing her viola...

i sprayed the

neutral cardstockand

the flower with

the robot blue mist from

the kit

i added yellow stickles

to the alphabet from the kit

lunar new year food! and ice cream sandwiches....

happy lunar new year!

did you enjoy yours?

the kids and i enjoyed ours!

our menu was....

veggie lo mein

veggie fried rice...

and general tso's chicken that went

so fast no time for a pic!!!

and a family favorite dessert....

nutella cookie and ice cream

ice cream sandwiches.

i made a lower fat nutella ice cream

with nutella, sugar, whole milk

and light cream.

see below for cookie recipe...

1 sm jar (13oz) nutella

3/4 c sugar (i use 1/2 sugar 1/2 splenda)

1 1/2 cup flour

1 egg plus 1 yolk

mix all ingredients together (yes all together at once)

shape into balls (i use a tbsp) flatten

bake at 350 for 8 mins

let sit on baking sheet for 15 minutes

then move to wire rack

happy martin luther king jr day

scrappers!!

this is a FABULOUS sketch this week!!

i used my january button box

scraptastic club kit

here i layered a few embellies!

i used a paint dauber from a

past kit to paint to blue alphas

from the kit.

i used my destress tool to

"draw" the heart on the pics

and used some liquid pearls

to fill it in

for the stitching, i used

2 different heads on the sew easy

then used two colors

of floss to stitch!

pb and nutella ice cream

peanut butter and nutella ice cream

*lower fat*

this is all you need.....

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

3/4 cup nutella

2/3 cup granulated sugar

1 1/4 cup half & half

2 cups heavy cream

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

kitchen aid mixer with paddle

ice cream maker

cream sugar, peanut butter and nutella together for 2 minutes.

add half & half and vanilla and mix for 3 minutes.

mix in heavy cream, and chill in fridge for 4 hours

follow ice cream maker instructions

ENJOY!

pineapple blueberry cake with pineapple creamcheese buttercream

YUMMY!!

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup shortening

4 large eggs

1 2/3 cups granulated sugar

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoon baking powder

1/3 cup milk

1/3 cup pineapple juice

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups blueberries (fresh or frozen)

3/4 cup drained chopped canned pineapple

Directions

Allow your eggs and butter to get to room temperature. (Very important)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F grease and flour pan(s)
Cream your butter shortening and sugar together on medium speed until it is nice and fluffy. About 3-5 minutes.
Add your eggs and vanilla to the cream mixture and mix well.
Sift your flour, salt and baking powder together in a separate bowl.
Beat in your dry ingredients into the creamed mixture slowly. Alternate with adding your milk and pineapple juice. Mix for 3-4 minutes.
Fold in your blue berries and pineapple
Bake till your toothpick comes out clear from the center.

Frosting:

Ingredients

6 oz softened cream cheese

6 tablespoons of unsalted butter

3 1/2 cups of confectioner’s sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup crushed canned pineapple

beat creamcheese and butter until smooth. beat in vanilla. slowly add sugar beat until smooth. mix in pineapple.

I haven't shared any recipes with you fora long time now!

i HAD to share this one!!

chili and eggs in tortilla cups!

ingredients:

small flour torillas

chili (i used my vegan chili)

taco sauce (i used a medium)

eggs

cheese (i used cheddar and jack)

muffin tin

i nsetled the tortillas into the muffin tin

added about 2 tbs of chili in each cup

added about 1/2 tbs of taco sauce

cracked and added egg to each

lightly covered with foil so that tortillas don't burn

and baked until egg was starting to turn white.

i then added 1 1/2 tbs of cheese to each.

covered and placed back into the oven until desired

done-ness. we liked ours a little more

cooked than poached.

drizzle with more taco sauce.

serve with a salad.

EVERYONE LOVED this dinner!!!

i have been so busy with the last month of school stuff

and it's been so hot that my mojo was hiding!!

finally last night it cooled down a little,

i checked out amy's sketch and just had to scrap!!!

i used the "birthday wishes" scraptastic club

kit and add-on to create this page!

when putting this layout together.

i created this layout with

2 pieces of cardstock and 1 patterned paper.

omw was this yummy!!!

this was nicole's birthday cake!

a lot of work considering i only have 2 9"pans lol

thanks to my hubby and bestest friends for the amazing

mothers day gift of a kitchen aid classic!!!

i'm not giving away my cake reicipe (sorry)

but i will give a few tips

i use my own cake recipe, but you could use a

white mix and color

i used black cherry koolaid (the little envelope kind) for

the top layer and orange for the bottom to give

color and flavor!

i just went with my sturdy whipped cream frosting

recipe (shared in march 2011)

use powder or gel colors. liquids add liquid to your

recipe. depending on what recipe

you use that might not be good.

here it is... week 155, the start of the new month

of nuts about sketches monday posts!!

so i was emailing back and forth with shawn (head nut lol creator

of all the amazing sketches!!!) and she commented about

how i am never in my lo's!

well that afternoon i was watching food network on my bed

scrapping and playing with gavin simultaneously

and he grabbed my camera and said cheese!

ding ding ding!!! he wanted to take pics with mommy!

we took a ton! and then i created

this lo, and it is a fave!!!!

in a local county park.
